"Guess the 2000th Store"
Contest Rules
Open only to US Citizens
(excluding Rhode Island)

INTRODUCTION:
Mr. Rebates sponsors the "Guess the 2000th Store" contest (the "Contest") with one
grand prize of $2,000 to one individual.
TIMING:
This Contest begins on 12:00 AM EST November 12th, 2009 and ends at
11:59 PM EST on November 26th, 2009.
The 2000th
store "answer" will be displayed on the homepage of Mr. Rebates on
November 27th, 2009.
ELIGIBILITY:
The Contest is open to residents of the
United States (excluding Rhode Island) who are 18 years
of age, or the age of majority by law, or older at time of entry. Void
where prohibited by law. Employees of Mr. Rebates
or its affiliates, subsidiaries, participating advertising or
promotion agencies are not eligible, nor are members of these
employees' families (defined as parents, children, siblings, spouse,
and life partners).
To participate
in the Contest, a participant needs to simply provide the name of
any retail or online store that they feel will be chosen by Mr.
Rebates as the 2000th store. This would be the participant's
"guess" entry. The name of the store "guess" is entered into
the form located at this page.
Further
information needed on the entry page is also a participant's full
name, address, city, state, zip code and email address.
Only one
"guess" is allowed per unique participant based on their full name
and address given in the form. Once a "guess" is made by a
participant, that guess cannot be changed. Determination of a valid
unique participant is at the
sole discretion of Mr. Rebates.
CRITERIA FOR
WINNING THE CONTEST:
All valid participants who correctly guess the name of the 2000th
store will be put into a winner's pool. From that winner's
pool, one random participant will be selected as the winner of the
$2000 grand prize.
In the case where no participant correctly guesses the name of the
2000th store, ALL participants who made a "guess" will be put into a
pool. One random participant from that pool will be selected as the
winner of the $2000 grand prize.
The 2000th
store correct answer will be pre-determined solely by Mr. Rebates.
SELECTION OF POTENTIAL WINNER:
A winner will be chosen on December 1st, 2009.
Winner will be notified via their registered email address and postal
address.
PRIZES:
The prize for the Contest consists of
one $2,000 cash prize
payable by check. The winner will be provided with a 1099 tax
form at the end of the tax year for tax purposes.
Each prize cannot
be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer. The odds of
winning are unknown based on the future outcome of how many correct
guesses will be registered. No substitute
or transfer of prizes is permitted. Expenses not
specifically stated are the sole responsibility of the winner. Return
of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable may result in the
disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Prizes are
non-transferable by winner. Any unclaimed prize will not be awarded.
The winner should allow approximately 1-2 weeks to receive their
prize.
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
• The Contest is governed by the laws of the United States. All
federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. The Contest is
open to U.S residents (excluding Rhode Island). Participation in the Contest constitutes
participant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of
these Official Rules. By entering, participants
release and hold harmless Sponsor, its subsidiaries, affiliates,
directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability
for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in
connection with the Contest or the prize.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY:
• Sponsor Mr. Rebates reserves the right to cancel or modify the
Contest if fraud or any other factor impairs the integrity of the
Contest as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Sponsor
further reserves the right to modify these Official Rules in its sole
discretion for clarification purposes without materially affecting the
terms and conditions of the Contest.
• If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as
planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering,
unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure, human error or any
other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor that corrupt or affect
the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of
the Contest, Mr. Rebates reserves the right in its sole discretion,
to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to
cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. In the event of such
cancellation, Mr. Rebates reserves the right to award prizes in a
random drawing from all entries received before the time of
cancellation.
• Mr. Rebates assumes no responsibility for any error,
omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or
transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or
unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Mr. Rebates is
not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any
telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or
providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or entry
to be received by the Sponsor on account of technical problems or
traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, any combination
thereof, or otherwise, including any injury or damage to entrant's or
any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation
or downloading any materials in the Contest.
CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB
SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A
VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE
MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH
PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
COMPLIANCE AFFIRMATION. By entering this Contest you agree to
abide by and be bound by these Official Rules. The Official Rules will
be posted at the Contest Landing Page for the Contest Period and
through notification of all winners.
ENTERING
CONTEST WITHOUT MAKING A PURCHASE
No purchase is necessary for the prize giveaway.
To participate in the prize giveaway, one must send a
typed entry with the following subject: "Participation in the
Guess the 2000th Store
Contest" with their name and postal address included. A
valid store "guess" must also be included in a written format on
paper. Only
1 entry form will be accepted per individual (unique name, unique
postal address).
