Contest Rules

INTRODUCTION:
Mr. Rebates is sponsoring the "Back to School 2012" contest (the "Contest") with one Apple iPad™ (third generation) prize given per day to random eligible entrants. This Mr. Rebates' contest is not endorsed or sponsored by Apple, Inc. iPad is a registered trademark of Apple, Inc.

ELIGIBILITY:
The Contest is only open to residents of the United States (excluding Florida and New York citizens) who are 18 years of age, or the age of majority by law, or older at time of entry. This contest is void where prohibited by law.  Furthermore, No Purchase is Necessary for this contest. See the bottom of these contest rules for directions on the manual entry procedure via postal mail.

Further eligibility restrictions not defined above are as such:

An "eligible member" must have a registered account at Mr. Rebates and be logged into that account. A Mr. Rebates membership is free.

An "eligible member" must not be employees of Mr. Rebates or its affiliates, subsidiaries, participating advertising or promotion agencies.

An "eligible member" must be a resident of the United States (excluding Florida and New York residents) who is 18 years of age, or the age of majority by law, or older at time of entry.

An "eligible member" must click-through to a Mr. Rebates' listed store, coupon, product search listing or store banner ad.  A Mr. Rebates listed store is any store included within the Mr. Rebates website.  This constitutes the definition of a "store click-through".

An "eligible member" must have at least one purchase/rebate (from a valid Mr. Rebates' merchant) present in their Mr. Rebates account to be eligible to win a prize on a "store click-through".

An "eligible member" only gets a random chance to win on their first 10 "store click-throughs" per calendar day as determined by the Mr. Rebates' web server clock in Eastern Standard Time. 

If an "eligible member" does win a prize, they are no longer an "eligible member" for the duration of the contest.

Any attempt to earn multiple entries through multiple "non-unique" accounts will be IMMEDIATELY DISQUALIFIED for the contest at Mr. Rebates' full discretion.

TIMING:
This Contest begins on 12:00 AM EST July 23rd, 2012 and ends at 11:59 PM EST on August 26th, 2012.

CRITERIA FOR WINNING THE CONTEST:
A valid "store click-through" from an "eligible member" will have the potential to win an iPad™ determined by a random contest algorithm.  If the "store click-through" is selected as a winner by the algorithm, the "eligible member" will be notified with a winning landing page and further instructions on how to claim the prize.  If a non "eligible member" is selected as a winner as governed by the eligibility restrictions, a new "eligible member" for that day will be selected by the random winning algorithm.

PRIZES:
The prize(s) for the Contest consists of an Apple iPad™ (third generation) given to an "eligible member" who is randomly chosen from a "store click-through" on each day of the contest.

The Apple iPad™ prize is specified as the following model of the Apple iPad™:
Apple iPad™ (third generation) - 16GB - Wifi - No Cellular Service
Retail Value: $499

A substitute prize of $499 cash can be selected by a prize winner and each winner will be given the choice of the iPad™ prize OR the cash-equivalent prize.

Each prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer. No substitute or transfer of prizes is permitted other than parameters stated above (iPad™ or Cash Prize). Expenses not specifically stated are the sole responsibility of the winner. Return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable may result in the disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Prizes are non-transferable by winner.

If fraud or any type of tampering is detected in the sole determination of Mr. Rebates, the individual prize can be voided.

PRIZE VALUE / ODDS OF WINNING:
The prize value for each winner is an Apple iPad™ or cash equivalent of $499 US dollars to the member's Mr. Rebates account.  Approximately one prize per day is awarded in the main contest.  The alternate entry method has the same odds of winning but no prizes are guaranteed per day.  The odds or winning change each day due to the fact that the random algorithm is based on site traffic which fluctuates each day.

WINNER LIST:
A winner list can be obtained by mailing a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Mr. Rebates, 9445 Indianapolis Blvd Suite A #102, Highland, IN 46322.   Only select information for each winner will be given due to privacy policies in Mr. Rebates' full discretion.

GENERAL CONDITIONS:
The Contest is governed by the laws of the United States. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.  Participation in the Contest constitutes participant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules. By entering, participants release and hold harmless Sponsor, its subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the Contest or the prize.

LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY:
Sponsor Mr. Rebates reserves the right to cancel or modify the Contest if fraud or any other factor impairs the integrity of the Contest as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Sponsor further reserves the right to modify these Official Rules in its sole discretion for clarification purposes without materially affecting the terms and conditions of the Contest.

If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure, human error or any other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Contest, Mr. Rebates reserves the right in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. In the event of such cancellation, Mr. Rebates reserves the right to award prizes in a random drawing from all entries received before the time of cancellation.

Mr. Rebates assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Mr. Rebates is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or entry to be received by the Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, any combination thereof, or otherwise, including any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the Contest.

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

COMPLIANCE AFFIRMATION:
By entering this Contest you agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules. The Official Rules will be posted at the Contest Landing Page for the Contest Period and through notification of all winners.

ENTERING CONTEST WITHOUT MAKING A PURCHASE:
No purchase is necessary for the prize giveaway by utilizing this alternate method of entry.  To participate in the prize giveaway, one must send a self addressed stamped envelope with the following subject: "Participation in the BTS 2012 Contest" typed onto the envelope.  Any envelope that does not include a self addressed stamped envelope will not be a valid alternate entry!

Up to 10 alternate entries per household will be accepted per day of the contest (7/23/12 to 8/26/12) to match the 10 click limit on the electronic chances of winning. Each self addressed stamp envelope constitutes an alternate entry.  The postmark date will be used as the date of entry for contest purposes.

Each entry form submitted will have the approximate odds of winning an iPad as a regular click-through to the Mr. Rebates' website based on historical contest click data which is compiled after the contest.  The alternate drawings will be held after all manual entries have been collected shortly after August 31st, 2012.  Entry form and self addressed stamp envelope should be sent via postal mail to:
