"Back to School 2008" Contest Rules

Open only to US Citizens. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

INTRODUCTION:
MrRebates.com sponsors the August 2008 "Back to School" contest (the "Contest") with one grand prize of $5000 to one individual.

REGISTRATION:
All valid members of Mr. Rebates are eligible for this contest although specific actions explained below must be taken by a member to qualify for the contest via daily entries.  A valid member of Mr. Rebates is a unique person that is registered in the Mr. Rebates membership database with a valid email address and valid password.

Any attempt to earn multiple entries through multiple "non-unique" accounts will be IMMEDIATELY DISQUALIFIED for the contest.

TIMING:
This Contest begins on 12:00 AM EST August 1st, 2008 and ends at 11:59 PM EST on August 31st, 2008.
 
ELIGIBILITY:
The Contest is open to residents of the United States (excluding Rhode Island and Vermont) who are 18 years of age, or the age of majority by law, or older at time of entry. Void where prohibited by law. Employees of Mr. Rebates or its affiliates, subsidiaries, participating advertising or promotion agencies are not eligible, nor are members of these employees' families (defined as parents, children, siblings, spouse, and life partners).

To earn a daily entry into the prize giveaway, a valid Mr. Rebates member must visit the "Back to School" entry/landing page using an Internet browser.  The "entry/landing" page is displayed here.   A member may only earn one entry per calendar day governed by Eastern Standard Time from 00:00 hours to 23:59:59 hours.  Each daily entry generated will be a separate entry into the $5000 drawing with a maximum of 31 entries per member.  Determination of a valid entry is at the sole discretion of the Mr. Rebates website. 

CRITERIA FOR WINNING THE CONTEST:
The winner of the $5000 drawing will be drawn at random from the pool of valid entries into this contest. 

SELECTION OF POTENTIAL WINNER:
A winner will be chosen on or around September 15th, 2008.  Winner will be notified via their registered email address and postal address (if the postal address is on file at Mr. Rebates).

PRIZES:
The prize for the "Back-to-School" Contest consists of one $5000 cash prize payable by check.  The winner will be provided with a 1099 tax form at the end of the tax year for tax purposes.

Each prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer. No substitute or transfer of prizes is permitted. Expenses not specifically stated are the sole responsibility of the winner. Return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable may result in the disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Prizes are non-transferable by winner. Any unclaimed prize will not be awarded. The winners should allow approximately 1-2 weeks to receive their prize.

GENERAL CONDITIONS:
• The Contest is governed by the laws of the United States. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. The Contest is open to participants worldwide. Entries originating from jurisdictions outside of the continental U.S. are eligible in accordance with local laws for that jurisdiction. Participation in the Contest constitutes participant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules. By entering, participants release and hold harmless Sponsor, its subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the Contest or the prize.

LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY:
• Sponsor Mr. Rebates reserves the right to cancel or modify the Contest if fraud or any other factor impairs the integrity of the Contest as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Sponsor further reserves the right to modify these Official Rules in its sole discretion for clarification purposes without materially affecting the terms and conditions of the Contest.

• If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure, human error or any other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Contest, Mr. Rebates reserves the right in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. In the event of such cancellation, Mr. Rebates reserves the right to award prizes in a random drawing from all entries received before the time of cancellation.

• Mr. Rebates assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Mr. Rebates is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or entry to be received by the Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, any combination thereof, or otherwise, including any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the Contest.

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

COMPLIANCE AFFIRMATION. By entering this Contest you agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules. The Official Rules will be posted at the Contest Landing Page for the Contest Period and through notification of all winners.

ENTERING CONTEST WITHOUT MAKING A PURCHASE
No purchase is necessary for the prize giveaway.  To participate in the prize giveaway, one must send a typed entry with the following subject: "Participation in the $5000 Back to School Contest" with their name and postal address included. Only 1 entry form will be accepted per individual (unique name, unique postal address).   Entry forms should be sent via postal mail to:
