Half.com has a super selection, due to the huge number of sellers. It's a shame that eBay doesn't market this harder than it does. It really seems to be treated as the ugly stepchild. With a little effort, this could easily compete with Amazon.com. As it stands, I find that few people are aware that it exists. It's big, big flaw is the same as eBay's. The company truly doesn't seem to feel that there is a reason for them to talk to you. This is compounded by the lack of any mechanism to allow you to ask the seller anything about his item.

When it comes to buying books, DVDs, or CDs, I always go to both Half.com and Amazon first to check for the best price. Often it's Half.com. I've received some wonderful deals here, and the shipping is reasonable. One complaint is since this company is owned by eBay, why don't they accept Paypal? It would make ordering a lot more convenient!

You can save a bundle on books here, especially if you buy used. I have bought here many times and the only problem was a couple of slow shippers. You can also buy CD's and DVD's here.

Half.com is a great find! I've found several books at much lower prices with them. You are dependent on the seller for things like how fast your item is shipped. However, they do provide ratings of their sellers. The only downside is they don't have every book your heart desires.

I always find something at Half.com and they are very good if something goes wrong. I have never lost money, on the couple times that I didn't receive an item.

They have great prices on cd's and dvd's. There is a hugh selection of items to choose from. I have shopped numerous times with half.com and have been pleased with everything. The items come as described.

First time orderer. Great selection, easy ordering, good confirmation of every step along the way. Divided the selections into "new" and "Used" so I could see the difference. Have not recieved order yet but I just ordered 2 days ago.

The site is easy to navigate. I was able to quickly find what I was looking for. The prices were much cheaper than other sites. The shipping was much cheaper than the shipping charged on eBay for the same items.

I almost never buy a book, video, or CD without checking Half.com first. I like it better as a buyer than as a seller. Everything I've ever sold on Half.com has lingered forever before being sold, and because of the quantity of the same item for sale prices are really low for paperback books (this, of course, is good for the buyer.) If you've never sold there, too, you'd be surprised to learn that even though Half.com charges $3.25 for media mail for a paperback, it doesn't give $3.25 to the seller/sender.....It's like a hidden commission that you pay. But, as a buyer, I can't complain. And many of the dealers are full-time businesses.

To me, Half.com is simply one of the best sites for shopping on the internet. There is a wide selection of books and other items with a real variety of conditions and prices. It is a relatively safe way to shop if one is patient enough to use the eBay feedback system to identify the better sellers who ship fast, give accurate grading of their books, and are otherwise reliable. I love a bargain and find that Half.com is a great site for bargains as long as I am able to resist a great price from a Seller that has proven unreliable in the past.
Overall, Half.com is a wonderful buying experience for a patient bargain hunter. I would highly recommend this site.

I use this website for purchasing used textbooks and find that it usually had better choice than pricing than other similar websites such as Amazon.com. The services are very reliable but then again that depends on the sellers. I would like to see more information on the book such as the editions and year better organized. I have recommended to many people and would definitely use it again.

Half.com does connect you with individual sellers. The pricing does depend on what they set; you can score a lot of good deals, or you can get mediocre ones. The default shipping is media mail, which isn't very fast, and can be unreliable. I've lost 3 packages by media mail (admittedly out of dozens shipped and received). You can upgrade to priority mail with some sellers, which is faster, but I've lost one package that way too. Half.com doesn't reimburse sellers enough for them to put insurance on packages. It's a bit of a roll of the dice, sometimes.

Half.com is one of the best places on the net to look for bargain books. The selection changes from day to day so you have to check regularly to find the book you want. They also have great customer service should you ever encounter a problem with a seller which happens occasionally. Sellers who list books for sale on Half.com are in competition with each other so it's not unusual to find a bargain. Overall, a nice shopping experience.

Half.com has been a good source of used literature and music. I have had a good overall experience in both selling an item, and purchasing and item. The customer service was excellent when I had a problem (and I've only ever had one issue in all the years I've used Half.com), and the issue was cleared up immediately.

This was my first shopping experience on half.com. My overall experience was awesome! It was fast, easy to navigate through, and even my son enjoyed shopping. We found many great items in prices that were below the expected price.

I hate spending money on books and CD's. Half.com is a great place for buying those gently used items for usually about 50% to 70% off retail value. For sellers, they could reimburse you a bit more for shipping. By the time you pay the commission and take into account the packaging, etc., you really lose money. For buyers, it's good that the shipping fee is set so sellers cannot inflate their shipping fees. I wish the inventory was larger, but otherwise, I am a big fan of Half.com.
