"Back to School" Contest Rules
Open only to US Citizens.
Not applicable in Vermont and Rhode Island. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. No purchase
necessary, see details at bottom of contest rules.
INTRODUCTION:
Mr. Rebates and the following stores: Buy.com, Dick's Sporting
Goods, eBags, Franklin Covey, HP Home Store, Irv's Luggage, Linens n Things,
Overstock.com, Ritz Camera, Shoes.com, Staples, Tigerdirect
("participating stores") sponsor the
Back to School contest (the "Contest") with prizes given
as detailed on the following
page.
REGISTRATION:
All valid members of Mr. Rebates are eligible
for this contest although specific actions explained below must be
taken by a member to qualify for the contest. A valid member of Mr. Rebates is a unique
person that is registered in the Mr. Rebates membership database with
a valid email address and valid
password.
TIMING:
This Contest begins on 12:00 AM EST August 1st, 2006 and ends at
11:59 PM EST on August 31st, 2006.
ELIGIBILITY:
The Contest is open to residents of the
United States (excluding Rhode Island and Vermont) who are 18 years
of age, or the age of majority by law, or older at time of entry. Void
where prohibited by law. Employees of Mr. Rebates or
participating stores as the sponsor,
or its affiliates, subsidiaries, participating advertising or
promotion agencies are not eligible, nor are members of these
employees' families (defined as parents, children, siblings, spouse,
and life partners).
To earn an
entry into this each respective prize giveaway, a valid Mr. Rebates member must make
a valid
purchase at a respective participating store through the Mr. Rebates links to
said participating store. Purchases that are
returned/cancelled/exchanged do not qualify as a valid purchase.
"Referral" rebates do not count as entries into the contest. Determination of a valid purchase is at the
sole discretion of the Mr. Rebates website. Only one entry can be
earned per person regardless of how many purchases are made at each
respective store.
CRITERIA FOR
WINNING THE CONTEST:
The winner of each respective prize giveaway per participating
store will be drawn at random from the pool of
valid entries into this contest.
SELECTION OF POTENTIAL WINNER:
Winners will be chosen on or around September 15th, 2006.
Winner will be notified via their registered email address and postal
address (if the postal address is on file at Mr. Rebates).
PRIZES:
This prize cannot
be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer. No substitute
or transfer of prizes is permitted. Expenses not
specifically stated are the sole responsibility of the winner. Return
of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable may result in the
disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Prizes are
non-transferable by winner. Any unclaimed prizes will not be awarded.
The winners should allow approximately 2-4 weeks to receive their
prizes.
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
• The Contest is governed by the laws of the United States. All
federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Participation in the Contest constitutes
participant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of
these Official Rules. By entering, participants
release and hold harmless Sponsor, its subsidiaries, affiliates,
directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability
for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in
connection with the Contest or the prize.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY:
• Sponsor Mr. Rebates & Participating Stores reserve the right to cancel or modify the
Contest if fraud or any other factor impairs the integrity of the
Contest as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Sponsor
further reserves the right to modify these Official Rules in its sole
discretion for clarification purposes without materially affecting the
terms and conditions of the Contest.
• If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as
planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering,
unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure, human error or any
other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor that corrupt or affect
the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of
the Contest, Mr. Rebates reserves the right in its sole discretion,
to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to
cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. In the event of such
cancellation, Mr. Rebates reserves the right to award prizes in a
random drawing from all entries received before the time of
cancellation.
• Mr. Rebates assumes no responsibility for any error,
omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or
transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or
unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Mr. Rebates is
not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any
telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or
providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or entry
to be received by the Sponsor on account of technical problems or
traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, any combination
thereof, or otherwise, including any injury or damage to entrant's or
any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation
or downloading any materials in the Contest.
CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB
SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A
VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE
MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH
PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
COMPLIANCE AFFIRMATION. By entering this Contest you agree to
abide by and be bound by these Official Rules. The Official Rules will
be posted at the Contest Landing Page for the Contest Period and
through notification of all winners.
ENTERING
CONTEST WITHOUT MAKING A PURCHASE
No purchase is necessary for each respective prize giveaway.
To participate in each respective prize giveaway, one must send a
typed entry with the following subject: "Participation in XXXXX
Contest" where XXXXX would be the respective store prize giveaway.
